Entangled Harmony traces the delicate threads where nature and humanity, past and present, wound and healing, sound and image intertwine. This exhibition includes immersive works such as Embracing the Void: Winds-scape in the Prairie, each piece hand-stitched as an act of quiet resistance to the speed of machine culture and a gesture of devotion to craft.
Having lived between Korea and the United States, my bicultural experience shapes the language of my art. The vast openness of the Great Plains has redefined my vision, inviting me to seek not mere representation of landscape, but its essence—its enduring spirit. Every stitch becomes a pulse of energy, a record of vitality flowing from artist to cloth.
I weave music into color, rhythm into texture, creating visual compositions that echo with spiritual resonance. Fiber and thread—humble, tactile, and layered—become instruments of interpretation, transforming a traditionally domestic act into a medium of art. Through slow, repetitive stitching, I bind East and West, craft and fine art, chaos and harmony, my Korean roots and the American prairie into one woven language.
What appears tangled reveals nature’s hidden balance, a quiet order born of chance and intention. This work is an exploration of cultural hybridity, reimagining Korean and American traditions in new forms that speak of interconnectedness, resilience, and beauty beyond the visible.
